Condition: Very good-antique; wood stock has wear commensurate w/ age; some splitting around the sideplate & lockplate; barrel has mostly gray/brown patina w/ light pitting; lockplate has some bluing w/ some faded patina & light pitting; bore is dark & pitted; appears to be some replacement parts on the flintlock mechanism; emchanically functional
Includes: swivel ramrod; missing sliding safety bolt behind the cock; brass srike pan; brass front sight blade
Marked: lockplate dated "1822" behind the hammer (cock) and "S. NORTH." / "U" eagle "S" / "MIDLTN CONN." in front; barrel reads "JDJ / P / US"; left stock flate has "LS" (Luther Sage) cartouche stamp; "V" stamp on right side of stock behind lcokplate
Note from owner:  North flintlock pistol, Model 1819-1822. A huge flintlock .54 caliber flintlock much in use during the opening up of the Western territory.
