Includes: nice burl wood stock; silver mountings inset into the stock featuring: crescent moons, hearts, stars, & acorns; set trigger; patch-box; ramrod; heavy octagon barrel
Marked: top of barrel is marked "F. J." in cursive script; 
Note from owner: Percussion rifle by the famous Lancaster, PA maker, Henry Leman. Leman was one of the most prolific of the eastern Pennsylvania craftsmen and his rifles were used through- out the American west. Many of them found their way into the Indian trade of the 19th century.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
