Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has moderate wear & patina for age; some splitting around the sideplate screws; missing butt cap; barrel & lockplate ahve dark brown patina w/ rust & pitting; bore is dark & pitted w/ strong-deep rifling; mechanically good; crisp cock pull; chipped bone inlay on right side
Includes: striped maple stock w/ straight butt; brass barrel bands; large rear triple peep sight; Damascus barrel has flared muzzle; missing ramrod; bone inlay around the stock screws; buttp cap was likely bone
Marked: lockplate is dated "1801" behind the hammer (cock) and has a lion emblem in front

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
