Barrel Length: 43 in.
OAL: 58.5 in.
Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has very light wear for age; small split at the very forend; repair at the toe; barrel has gray/brown patina w/ some rust & pitting; bore is dark & pitted; mechanically functional
Includes: curly ash wood full-stock; wooden ramrod; brass fittings & patch box; silver round on the left side of the stock w/ engraved soaring eagle crest; flint in the jaws of the hammer (cock)
Marked: lockplate reads "R. / ASHMORE / WARRANTED"
Note from owner: Kentucky rifle, full stock, flintlock, maker unknown. A very typical Pennsylvania or Ohio "long rifle" of the early 19th century. The lock was made by R. Ashmore. The stock is likely curly Ash.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
