Condition: Very good-antique; wood stock is in good condition for age w/ some split repairs in the forend; splititng around the sideplate screws; barrel & lockplate have gray patina w/ scattered pitting; bore is dark w/ rust & pitting; strong/deep rifling; mechanism appears intact
Includes: stock has sveral horn inlays w/ running hog on the left side; horn forend cap; steel ramrod; brass trigger guard; lion embellished brass mountings on the wheellock mechanism; lightly carved stock compartment door; set triggers
Marked: maker stamp on the top of the barrel is brass and inset, featuring a lion with a "B I" over the head

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
