Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has has fair amount of wear w/ chipping, splits & splintering; barrel & lockplate have gray metal patina w/ light scattered pitting; bore is dark & pitted; seems to be mechanically complete
Includes: light scroll/petal carving on the stock; ramrod
Marked: 3 faint proof stamps on left side of the barrel (appears to be letters M & N, a lion, and unknown); lockplate has a stamp that appears to read "51".
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
