Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has wear & patina commensurate w/ age; some splitting in the forend; bone inlay has aged patina w/ some missing parts; barrel & lockplate have a mostly brown patina w/ scattered rust & pitting; bore is dark & pitted w/ worn rifling; wheel turns, but isn't holding tension
Includes: extensive bone inlay featuring dogs chasing game & some scroll design; ball butt cap; ramrod w/ bone tip
Marked: illegible mark on left barrel slant
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
