Greg Wilson is a self-taught wildlife painter and professional photographer known for his realistic style and careful attention to detail. Raised in Telluride, Colorado, he spent much of his youth observing wild animals, an experience that shaped his accurate and lifelike paintings. He studied at the Colorado Institute of Art and Utah State University and worked as an assistant to wildlife artist Greg Beecham and landscape painter John Hughes. Wilson uses his photograph collection of over 100,000 images as reference images for his paintings of animals in their natural habitats. His work has received awards in major shows such as the Arts for the Parks national competition and the Western Heritage Artists Art Show. He has also been featured in exhibitions including Artists for the New Century and Art of the Animal Kingdom at the Bennington Center for the Arts, and his work appears in the book "The Red Fox in Art."
