Note: Factory Letter states: "The above mentioned gun was part of the last pre-war Single Action Armies stored in the Shipping Room. Sold to Bob Cherry's Sporting Goods on October 3, 1972, this arm was manufactured prior to World War II but assembled after the war. It was also part of the last six numbered Single Action Armies made by Colt." Meaning that this was stored for 32 years in the Colt Shipping Room, before being shipped out!

Serial Number "357869" was the last known serial number for 1st gen SAA's, in 1940, as stated in "The Book of Colt Firearms", by R. L Wilson. The book also states that only 82 Single Action Army revolvers were manufactured for the .38 Colt Special cartridge. This example is only 189 numbers away from the last known SN for a 1st generation Single Action Army.
An amazing piece, worthy of being added to any historical or Colt collection!

Provenance: Property from the monumental lifetime collection of a distinguished Dallas, Texas business leader and ranch owner.
