Sharon Standridge, born in Denver and raised in the Rocky Mountain foothills and Nebraska plains, is known for her nostalgic figurative scenes and western genre paintings inspired by her rural upbringing. Encouraged from a young age to pursue art, she honed her skills through local exhibits and later expanded her training by studying watercolor and acrylic techniques in workshops with nationally recognized artists such as Edgar Whitney and Al Brouillette. Now based in north central Texas, Standridge draws inspiration from the natural beauty surrounding her Lake Bridgeport studio and often features her grandchildren as models in her work, blending personal memories with the spirit of the American West.
