This artist studied commercial art at Southwestern State University and art education and sculpture at Texas Tech University, with additional training in painting at the Art Students League in Stowe, Vermont, and the Froman Portrait Painting School in Cloudcroft, New Mexico, where she studied under Raymond Froman. She also pursued study with Frank Mason. Her work has been exhibited extensively, including at Brookgreen Gardens, the National Museum of Wildlife Art, the Leigh Yawkey Woodson Art Museum, the Butler Institute of American Art, the Fleisher Museum’s Masterworks of American Sculpture, 1875-1999, and the Cincinnati Museum Center’s Great American Artists Exhibition and Sale. She has received numerous awards, including the John Cavanaugh Memorial Prize from the National Sculpture Society, the A.A.P.L. Medal of Honor for Sculpture, the Helen G. Oehler Memorial Award, the Anna Hyatt Huntington Award, the Vincent Glinsky Memorial Award, and Best of Show from the Texas Cowboy Artists.
