Note from owner: antique Springfield trapdoor rifle purchased by the Western Costume Company and modified to function as a blank fire flintlock pistol in films. This was done to utilize more reliable cartridge blanks over finicky flintlocks which may ruin expensive takes. BATJAC Productions used modified pistols like these for background actors and stuntmen in films such as The Alamo (1960)
