Includes: silverplate tacked stock w/ serpent carbings & wire wrapped wrist; missing ramrod
Marked: lockplate reads "HARPERS / FERRY / 184?" (last digit is obscured) behind the hamemr and eahle / "US" in front; barrel tang reads "N.O."; left side of barrel reads "V / P" / eagle head and "W.G. & CO."
Note from owner: U. S. model 1842 musket, shortened and decorated in "Indian fashion", this weapon may have been captured or traded to a Native American. The heavy ;69 caliber piece could carry a single ball or shot charge.
