Marked: left side of the barrel is marked w/ "7|5 / 7|5" and dots on either end of the line between the numbers
Note from owner:  Percussion whaling gun, brand patent. These guns, patented in 1852, were designed to fire an exploding "bomb-lance" at whale; a definite improvement over trying to kill whales with lances thrown from small boats. They remained quite popular in the Whaling industry for many years, before and after the Civil War.
