Condition: Very good-antique; wood stock has nice dark patina w/ moderate wear for age; some splitting & chipping in the forend near the forend cap; barrel has been refinished w/ plum color; light pitting throughout; bore is dark & pitted
Includes: military style stock w/ steel ramrod; sling swivels; wrapped flint inth hammer (cock) jaws; brass fittings
Marked: lockplate reads "KNUBLEY"; the barrel is marked "LONDON" w/ London proofs; nameplate on wrist of the stock is marked w/ curscve script initials "LN"; buttplate tang is marked "H-A-C"; trigger guard is marked "N=W / 6"
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
