Includes: octagonal barrel w/ steel ramrod; brass trigger guard & buttplate; set triggers
Marked: lockplate has no visible markings; top of the barrel reads "S. HAWKEN ST. LOUIS"
Note from owner: The Hawken brothers, Jacob and Samuel, were by far the most famous and prolific of western American arms makers, and their reliable firearms formed the mainstay of the mountain-man/fur trade in the trans-Mississippi West. “Hawken” became synonymous with arms of quality and dependability.
