Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has moderate wear & patina; repaired on the belly of the forend; splitting aroun the lockplate & sideplate screw; barrel & lockplate have dark brown patina w/ blue hue coming through; scattered rust/pitting; bore is dark & pitted w/ good rifling; replaced percussion nipple; mechanically functional
Includes: barss & silver mounted inlay; heavy octagon barrel; wooden ramrod; set triggers
Marked: lockplate reads "LEMAN / LANCASTER"
Note from owner:  One of the best finds of early Kentucky rifles made by the famed Frontier gunmaker, Henry E. Leman.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
