Includes: extensive silver inlay & mounting featuringshapes of  carpentry tools; arrows etched into most of the silver mountings (possible Native American use); ramrod; patch-box; set trigger; heavy octagon barrel; full-length stock
Marked: mostly faded emblem on lockplate that likely reads "...... / WARRANTED"; label plaque on top of barrel w/ maker name but is illegible
Note from owner: Kentucky rifle, full stock, profusely inlaid, identifier on gun. Beautifully made inlaid and ornamented full stock percussion rifle by an unknown eastern-Pennsylvania maker, probably of the 1830's or 40's.Such an extensive decoration is rare. The inlays had a special significance to the gun's owner.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
