Includes: brass barrel, buttplate, and trigger guard; snap bayonet soldered on; wrapped flint in the jaws of the hammer (cock); missing ramrod & mount
Marked: illegible on lockplate; top of barrel reads "Temple Bar" in cursive script along w/ English proofs
Note from owner: Flintlock Blunderbuss, circa 1761-1769, London, Temple Bar features a rare flip spring bayonet with a cannon style bronze barrel. The unique inscription on the barrel reads "Temple Bar London".

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
