Condition: Poor/fair; grips have scratches, pressure dents & chips throughout; sporadic flaking & pitting throughout; cylinder drag marks with fouling in chambers; bore is frosted with some pitting
Includes: Mexican silver peso & silver round disk with Davy Crockett, Stephen F. Austin & Sam Houston; leather belt & holster
Marked: "US ARMY MODEL 1917 No" on butt; eagle/S20 on left side of frame between cylinder & hammer; "UNITED STATES PROPERTY" under barrel
Notes: no Army serial number appears to have been assigned; possible commercial overrun

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
