Includes: extensive silver and brass inlay ornamentation embedded into the stock featuring crescent moons, jacks & birds; some decorative stocvk repairs at the wrist which was previously broken; engarved sidelocks with bird scenes; some light scroll work; silver inlay on barrels; ramrod; Damascus barrels w/ solid rib; left barrel is smoothbore; right barrel is rifled
Marked: underside of barrels marked w/ "ELG" Liege, Belgium proof; right barrel stamped "18.2" and left barrel stamped "18"; barrel rib marked "J+WH"; either side of lockplate is marked w/ crown / "D" proof (common for Belgian proofs); silver inlay marked "1867" on the barrel rib near the muzzle end
Note from owner: Double barrel percussion rifle/shotgun , silver inlay, maker unknown. A magnificent double barrel rifle-shotgun with extensive silver ornamentation and an unusually long barrel. The percussion gun bears characteristics of New York or Pennsylvania makers, or possibly Ohio.
