Condition: Fair-antique; grips have pressure dents & scratches with some chips along the edges; finish has turned almost completely gray with some bluing left in protected areas, "COLT FRONTIER SIX SHOOTER" marking has mostly faded, sporadic light scratches & very light pitting; cylinder drag marks with fouling & some pitting in chambers; bore has light frosting throughout with some pitting, otherwise fair with strong rifling
Notes: black powder frame; mechanically fair, 4 positive clicks, slight cylinder wobble
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe "Red" McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
