Herb Mignery, raised on a century-old family ranch near Bartlett, Nebraska, is a renowned Western artist and sculptor known for his dynamic bronze sculptures capturing the fluid movement of horses and riders, including cowboys, Native Americans, and wildlife. Though expected to be a cowboy, Mignery pursued art, starting with illustration during his army service and commercial art before casting his first bronze in 1973 and dedicating himself to sculpture. His work ranges from small figures to monumental public sculptures, including the Pioneer Award statuette for the Academy of Country Music and a 20-foot Hashknife Pony Express statue in Scottsdale. He also paints Western scenes in oils and is a cartoonist for Western Horseman magazine. Mignery is a founding member of Cowboy Cartoonists International, was elected to the National Sculpture Society in 1996, and has been a longtime member and president of the Cowboy Artists of America, earning numerous awards for his sculptures over the years.
