Greg Kelsey, raised in Oklahoma and Texas amid ranching and cowboy life, discovered his passion for sculpture relatively late, beginning to work with clay at age 26 after returning to college for an Art degree. Drawing deeply on his firsthand experience with western traditions and ranching—having grown up working his grandfather’s longhorn herd—Kelsey channels the energy, movement, and emotion of cowboy life into his dynamic sculptures. His work quickly gained recognition, earning top awards such as the Artists’ Choice Award at the C.M. Russell Art Auction (2001), Best of Show at the National Western Art Show (2001), and First Place Sculpture at the NFR Open Art Show (2002). Known for capturing authentic western spirit, Kelsey continues to balance art and ranch life, seeking to create sculptures that truly captivate viewers.
