Gerry Metz, educated in Chicago at Wright Junior College and the School of Professional Art, is a realist painter and sculptor known for his evocative Old West subjects. After working as a commercial artist and art instructor—teaching oil painting and life drawing at the Phoenix Art Museum—he settled in Scottsdale, Arizona in 1971 to focus fully on fine art. Metz’s work imagines life in the Old West a century ago and is held in notable collections including the Valley National Bank and the Franklin Mint, with exhibitions across the U.S. such as the Biltmore Celebrity Show and the Governors Invitational.
