M. Charles Rhinehart is a self-taught oil painter born in 1930 near St. Louis, Missouri, who developed his unique style through studying masterworks at the St. Louis Museum, engaging with local artists, and exploring various painting techniques over a 55-year career. Though never formally trained, his work has been exhibited in institutions such as the St. Louis Art Museum, Springfield Regional Art Museum, and Little Rock Art Museum, and is held in prominent private and corporate collections including Pillsbury and Ritz Carlton. Rhinehart has traveled extensively to paint across the western United States and Alaska, and his contributions to art have been formally recognized by the Missouri House of Representatives and Senate for bringing honor to the state.
