Bob Guelich began painting after witnessing the majestic wildlife on the Aleutian Islands, but soon turned to sculpture because he felt that working three-dimensionally better expressed his creativity and love for animals. Guelich creates works with a strong presence, such as his monumental sculptures at the entrances to the Omaha Zoo and the San Antonio Zoo.
