The Estate of Margie Shackelford

An impressive collection of Mexican folk and fine art from the Estate of Margie Ann Meador Shackelford (1933-2023), to include a wide range of examples acquired by Mrs. Shackelford in her travels throughout Mexico over several decades, and brought back to her stylish and eclectic North San Antonio, Texas home. Featuring exceptional examples of pieces in the Ocumicho, Talavera, Oaxacan, Michoacan, Tlaxcala, Guerrero, Metepec, and Tonala traditions, as well as contemporary Latin pieces, indigenous jewelry, primitive furnishings, books, and couture. Mrs. Shackelford was instrumental in funding the San Antonio Museum of Art, held passions for travel, art, and literature, and Vogt Auction Galleries is honored to bring her superb collection to auction.
