Provenance: Property from the Estate of Robert A. "Bob" Funk Sr. - trailblazing American businessman, philanthropist, and rancher, from his impressive ranch headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Tim Cox is a largely self-directed painter whose five-decade career has focused on the contemporary American West, particularly working cowboys and cowgirls, horses, livestock, ranch life, and western landscapes. His style is distinguished by meticulous attention to detail, movement of horses and changing light, water, foliage, and expansive western skies. Over the course of more than 50 years, Cox has created nearly 500 paintings and continually refined his technique. His recent honors include the 2025 Lifetime Achievement Award from the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, the 2025 New Mexico Governor’s Award for Excellence in the Arts, the Rural Impact Award for his portrayal of ranching and rural life, and his second Best of Western Horseman Artist recognition, voted on by fans. His work has also been featured in a major solo exhibition of original paintings at the Desert Caballeros Western Museum, marking a significant recognition of his enduring contribution to Western art.
