According to painting's tag on verso: Weston was a Sydney-born artist who studied at the University of Toronto, Canada in 1956, as well as the Atelier Bianchi School in Florence, Italy before returning to to Australia where he established his own studio, and inspired new interest in the Old Master technique locally
