Rick Patterson, born in Temple, Texas in 1958, is a versatile artist known for his landscapes and portraits, working skillfully in a wide range of mediums including oil, watercolor, pastel, acrylic, and pen and ink. Largely self-taught, Patterson honed his techniques under the influence of prominent artists such as Melvin Warren, James Boren, A.D. Greer, Dalhart Windberg, and G. Harvey. His work reflects a deep appreciation for the Texas landscape and western heritage, and his paintings are part of numerous private and public collections, including the Texas State Capitol.
