Marked: lockplate is marked "US" in cursive script / eagle / "Springfield" and "1812" behind the hammer; the barrel is marked w/ "P" & "V" proofs; left stock flat is marked w/ cursive "US"; various inspector mark initials including: "JC" (inside trigger guard), "CN" (behind trigger guard tang), and "SP" (in front of trigger); buttplate tang is dated "1813"
