Condition: Good-antique; very light scratches on stock, small split near lock, possibly sanded & refinished; brass components have mostly light patina with some verdigris throughout, light scratches & dents; scattered very light pitting on lock & barrel; bore has pitting mostly isolated to muzzle end & fouling
Marked: "US H.ASTON&CO" & "MIDD TN" on lock plate, very faded "CONN" & year (possibly 1851) on lock plate; inspection marks are faded & mostly illegible
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
