Condition: Fair-antique; wood stock has significant wear w/ splititng & chipping; barrel & lockplate have dark patina w/ pitting throughout & heavy wear; bore is dark & pitted; mechanically functional
Includes: extensively carved stock; has powder horns & shot containers
Marked: unknown marking on ther lockplate
Note from owner:  Percussion trade-fusil used in the African slave trade of the mid-19th century and accompanied by its powderhorn and accoutrements. Probably manufactured in Belgium and intended for sale to the Arabian "middle-men", this specimen bears superb and unique tribal carvings on the stock.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
