Condition: Good-antique; wood stock has mostly moderate wear w/ some chips at the froend near the muzzle; repair on left side of the stock; barrel & lockplate have dark brown patina w/ rust & pitting; bore is dark & pitted; mechanically good
Includes: full-stock w/ wooden ramrod; brass dragon sideplate (common of the Barnett muskets); oversized trigger guard
Marked: "D BARNETT" behind the hammer; top of the barrel has a faded "LONDON" marking w/ English proofs
Note from owner: Inscribed "Warranted" "D.Barnett" quality English full stock fowling piece, flintlock mechanism by famous maker Barnett of London. A weapon of great popularity among the pioneers.

Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
