Condition: Good-restored antique; stock & forearms have light handling marks for age; barrel, magazine tube, lever, hammer & bolt have strong bluing (likely refinish) with moderate wear & gray patina; receiver appears to have restored case colors with pitting underneath; bore is frosted but retains brightness with serviceable rifling; receiver is carbon locked to barrel & magazine tube assembly
Includes: half-octagonal barrel; half length magazine tube; TD receiver; buckhorn sights; crescent stock
Marked: standard Winchester barrel markings
Provenance: Property from the personal estate collection of iconic Texas businessman, civic leader and philanthropist Billy Joe Red McCombs (1927-2023) from his home in Olmos Park, Texas; previously on long-term loan to either San Antonio Academy or the Bexar County Courthouse; this lot is accompanied by a Certificate of Authenticity as property from the McCombs personal estate
