Condition: Good; blade has moderate wear & scratches scabbard rubbing and some sparse pitting; guard has moderate wear w/ some rusting; pommel is dark brown with patina/rust; blade retains some cosmoline grease; sawback has no chips; grips have moderate wear; scabbard has moderate wear & scratches w/ some rust; frog has some flaking in the black finish on the leather
Includes: scabbard & leather belt frog
Marked: right Ricasso is marked w/ crown / "ERFURT"; left Ricasso marked "GEBR. HELLER / MARIENTHAL" (double stamping, possible arsenal redone for reuse); scabbard is numbered "5166" near the throat and has Waffenamt "243" mark on tip; reverse of leather belt frog is marked "Otto Breitschuh / Eislaben / 1940"
