Randy Peyton (Texas / Italy, b. 1958), Monet's Pond at Giverny, waterfront landscape depicting pond, 1987, oil on canvas sight: 24 x 36 in., frame: 34 x 36 in. Provenance: Property from the collection of a San Antonio, Texas gentleman Native-born Texan Randy Peyton started painting the land of his birth when he was twelve years old. Proximity to Texas famed Hill Country dictated that he paint the wild flowers that blanket the countryside every Spring. After perfecting that subject matter over a twenty-year period, his wanderlust took him to southern Europe-France, Spain, and Italy. Palette varies from earth to jewel tones with emphasis on light and shadow. Combining soft realism with a touch of impressionism characterizes his paintings. Canvases range from miniatures to murals, all with equal ease.
