sight: 24 x 30 in., frame: 29.5 x 35.5 in.
Purchased from the artist by the founders of Lone Star Beer after Salinas painted murals for their plant
Porfirio Salinas is celebrated for his magnificent landscape paintings of Central Texas, painting in the late American Impressionist style, with a strong sense of composition. He studied with the director of the San Antonio Art School, Jose Arpa, and Robert Wood. Salinas was one of the first Mexican-American artists to have his work widely recognized, and avidly collected by prominent figures such as President Lyndon B. Johnson. To this day, he is one of the most sought-after and collected Texas artists.
