Marked: left side of barrel is marked "J.M M"; left side of receiver marked "MANUFACTURED BY / MASS.ARMS CO. / CHICOPEE FALLS" and "ADDRESS / POULTNEY & TRIMBLE / BALTIMORE U.S.A." and "SMITH'S PATENT. / JUNE 23, 1857"; left side of stock marked w/ 2 cartouches (1 is "JM" for James Mills and the other is "AJN" for Augustus J. Noble); "N: stamp on the buttplate tang & the trigger guard tang; receiver & barrel marked w/ matching SNs
