Karen, a Nebraska native now based in Grinnell, Iowa, is known for her expressive, impressionist-inspired paintings influenced by her years living in Lipetsk, Russia. There, she studied with figurative artist Anna Kushnareva, deepening her commitment to strong drawing and clarity in her work. Karen holds a degree from the University of Nebraska and has continued her training through workshops with notable artists such as Dan Grazziano, Michele Byrne, Kim English, and Dan Gerhartz.
