James Reynolds was born in Taft, California in 1926. After studying at the School of Allied Arts in Glendale, California, he went on to work in the art department at Fox Studios. After his reputation grew, he was commissioned twice by Marlboro to paint the American Cowboy, and won the prestigious Prix de West International Award.
