Condition: Good-Antique; wood stock has mostly moderate wear commensurate w/ age; splitting at the wrist above the trigger guard on the left side; missing front rigger guard screw; upper tang screw is loose; 
Includes: original long range tang sight w/ aperture front sight; extra heavy octagonal barrel w/ round muzzle; ramrod; brass tag attached to trigger guard marked "HP & JH HART / 195"; brass patch box on right side of the stock; set trigger
-comes with a copy of Howard P. Hart's "A LIFE FOR A LIFE - A Memoir: My Career in Espionage Working for the Central Intelligence Agency"
Note: Attributed to a soldier of the 1st Indiana Sharpshooters (Company K, 19th Indiana Infantry, later part of the Wilder's Brigade).
The Indiana Sharpshooters were organized between 1861-62 and specialized in long-range fire.

Provenance: Originally from the Collection of legendary CIA Operations officer, Howard Phillips Hart (1937-2017). Hart was a lifelong collector of firearms, and his reputation adds exceptional provenance and significance to this piece.
