Greg Allen is primarily self-taught and has worked exclusively in oils for more than four decades, receiving early instruction from Nora Robertson and later developing his artistic vision alongside painters Mike Johnson and Joe Ireland. His work bridges traditional and contemporary approaches, drawing particular inspiration from the Taos Society of Artists, Los Cinco Pintores, Maynard Dixon, Georgia O’Keeffe, Martin Hennings, and Walter Ufer, with New Mexico adobe churches, desert landscapes, skies, and florals among his signature subjects. Allen has been juried into Oil Painters of America and has received numerous Best of Show honors at competitive juried exhibitions, including the El Paso Art Association’s Arts International and the New Mexico Farm & Ranch Heritage Museum show. His paintings are held in permanent collections including the City of El Paso, the International Museum of Art, and University Medical Center of El Paso.
