Dawson Dawson-Watson was an English-born impressionist painter of landscapes, portraits, and various other genres. He made significant contributions to the Arts and Crafts Movement while teaching at several prominent institutions throughout the United States. He served a year as director of the San Antonio Art Guild, and after being encouraged by members of the San Antonio Art League, permanently relocated to San Antonio in 1926. He participated in many exhibitions in his adopted home town, most notably winning first place at the 1927 Edgar B. Davis Wildflower Competition.
