Marked:Â lockplate is dated "1863", barrel flat is dated "1862"; lockplate is marked "U.S. / Norwich" w/ Eagle in front of hammer; barrel is marked w/ "V.P." on left slant & "H" on left side; left side of stock above trigger guard is marked w/ "JASD. Mowry / Norwich / Conn." in circle, "JM" cartouche & "AJN"Â cartouche; rear sight is marked "G"
