Provenance: Property from the collection of a San Antonio, Texas lady Charles Beckendorf is known for his illustrative works often featuring wildlife in their natural Texas landscapes. Beckendorf grew up in Mathis, Texas, and after serving in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, he moved to Austin and earned a degree in fine arts at the University of Texas. Beckendorf moved with his family to the Texas Hill Country outside Fredericksburg in 1965, operating a gallery there with his wife until his passing in 1996.
