Cesar Costantino Raimon Ceribelli (France, 1841-1918), "Bianca", bronze bust with red marble accents height 17 in. x width 9 in. x depth 5.5 in. Provenance: The collection of Preston Louis Anderson, former member of the Texas State Legislature (1927-1941), and San Antonio Fire and Police Commissioner (1941-1947); thence by inheritance to his granddaughter (San Antonio, Texas) In addition to his painting career, César Costantino Raimon Ceribelli was an accomplished sculptor, known for creating expressive, finely detailed bronze and marble pieces that often depicted rural and allegorical subjects. He exhibited his paintings and sculptures regularly at the Paris Salon, and won a Second-Class Medal in 1895 for a series of marble and bronze sculptures entitled "Les Travailleurs de la Terre." Today his work can be viewed in museums across France, including the Musee d'Orsay, Musée de la Vie Romantique in Paris, along with the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lyon and the Musée des Beaux-Arts in Lille.
