height 26.5 in. x width 10 in. x depth 8.5 in. (including base)

Provenance: Property from the Estate of Robert A. "Bob" Funk Sr. - trailblazing American businessman, philanthropist, and rancher, from his impressive ranch headquarters in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

Bob Scriver, born on the Blackfoot reservation in Montana, was a renowned sculptor known for his realistic and dynamic depictions of Western life, particularly scenes involving cowboys, Native Americans, and wildlife. Though he began his education in Browning, Montana, and earned a Master’s Degree in Music, teaching and performing professionally, he later shifted to taxidermy and museum work, which helped develop his keen understanding of anatomy and motion. His sculpting career flourished after creating a large piece of Charles Russell, earning him recognition and membership in the Cowboy Artists of America and the National Academy of Western Art. Scriver produced major sculpture series on the rodeo and the history of the Blackfeet Indians, continuing the storytelling tradition of Remington and Russell.
