Condition: Fair-antique; wood grips have heavy war & patina; barrel has been shortened and the front sight moved w/ the plunger lug also being moved & soldered; gray/brown patina through w/ scattered rust & pitting; some nickel plating remains on hammer & trigger; bore is mostly dark with pitting & worn rifling; functions mechanically, but not smoothly; action is clunky
Includes: extensive scroll & floral engraving throughout
Marked: top of barrel marked with a "Saml. Colt" barrel address; left side of frame marked w/ faded "COLT'S / PATENT" w/ star / "Z" proof; cylinder marked "COLTS PATENT 1137" and has star / "Z" / Liege proof; underside of barrel marked w/ crossed rifle "JNE" proofs; matching SNs on barrel lug, frame , trigger guard, & underside of backstrap
